Since John’s retirement from teaching elementary art, oil painting and charcoal and pastel drawing has given him the opportunity to exceed in art in a completely different way.  He is a member of the South Dakota artist alliance and EastBank Art Gallery and has won several awards in the South Dakota Masterworks Competition. John shows his work not only at the gallery but also at summer art shows in South Dakota and Minn. John also gives workshops in Japanese wood block printing.
