Rodger Ellingson

Augustana Band 16 x 20 acrylic $385.00
Most of Roger Ellingson's paintings are done on location or are
based upon his plein air paintings. Mostly self-taught, he did take
some art classes in college and began painting later in life.
Growing up in Sioux Falls, Roger returned to Sioux Falls after
teaching in Wyoming and working summers for the US Forest
Service in both Wyoming and the Black Hills. He also lived and worked in Montana and Minnesota. Living in these areas has
influenced his art. He recently retired from the Sioux Falls School
District, where he was a teacher. He is married to Sheila and they have a son Charlie, who attends Augustana University.

Working in both watercolor and acrylic, Roger usually paints
smaller plein air paintings of nature or downtown scenes during
the summer. During the winter he creates larger, more colorful
acrylic paintings. These larger paintings ofter include groups of people in various local settings. Hope you enjoy.
